Christmas without a tree

We have a tree... santa and the whole 9 yards. We have a happy birthday Jesus party. My 4 year old knows it is Jesus' Birth day. But she also believes that Jesus is God's son/super hero who saved us. Santa just brings us presents to remember Jesus' b-day. Her theology is seriously off... but we like the magic of her believing in super heros like Jesus saving us. We live in a heathen town and use our tree and our "Happy birthday Jesus" party at church to reach those who don't know. "I will become all things, That I may save one." I don't believe I am going to disgrace the kingdom of God with a tree with Crosses and hand made cherrio ornaments.

One Christmas we recieved 12 inches of rain in 24 hours. We needed to make it home... or else we would be trapped for days in the next town. The highway had already split in half. I told Maggie that she needed to stop talking so we could pray because the road was trying to slide down the hill. After praying she said that, "Santa came to keep our car on the road." When we got home, she jumped out of the car and asked, "Where's Santa?" I asked what he looked like. She said, "You know, white hair and beard like gramps!" That night 1/2 of the highway slid off into the creek and a 75 foot sink hole took out the other end of the highway. We were trapped (AT HOME thank you Jesus) for 9 days.

I believe kids can see what is unseen. And when we don't believe them... that wonder and magic disapears forever. Just like in the polar express movie. We teach children our unbelief.

Well... I did it.

I told my family that I am pregnant. I am already 12 weeks and finally sent an ecard. I am such a weenie. I wish I felt that I could tell them things without the certain backlash that I always get. A simple, Congradulations... would be AWESOME! We are screening our calls for a day or two and as it is we will probably get called cowards, nuts, and asked all the irritating questions like, "are you sure you can afford another baby?" , "You have no support where you are, who is going to take care of the kids while you are in the hospital?", "What about health insurance?"

They say they ask because they care. I still don't think so. If they cared about my feelings they wouldn't ask me such probing questions when I still have 200 days left to think about them.

Here I am!

Ok... I am back. I have been moving, throwing up my toenails and dealing with my parents separation. Pray for my family. We are going to visit them for thanksgiving. My husband is not thrilled. He cannot tolerate my parents petty issues. I have been dealing with them for the last10-15 years. I am only going back to see my brothers, sisters, grandma and aunt. My oldest daughter is foaming at the mouth to get on a plane and go. I pray all goes well.

Stress and Dreams

During times of HIGH STRESS (I am moving in 3 days!) I have very painful and stressful dreams. Most of our dreams are behind the current issues by about a year. So my night was filled with dreams of my struggles from last year. (Last summer was a very bad summer!) Now I am walking around like a zombie. With this fog of things I thought I had delt with and were part of the past. I have too much to do to sit and analyze my issues today!

ok, ok... I am adicted

I never had any technology growing up. We always recieved hand me down computers and I limped them through the few good programs they could handle. Before that my parents had an Atari and I was not allowed to play with it. The nintendo was for my brothers. They also had gameboys. Typically by the time it was my turn to play it was time to go to bed and it was too late for me. (This ended in many battles between me and my parents). Now my husband has purchased a Game Cube. Wow that thing is going to be hard to keep away from!

Happy day!

We went to the beach today and enjoyed some much needed family time. We spotted some dolphins, a dead jelly fish and dug up sand crabs. Then to top it all off, we got In-n-out hamburgers (ANIMAL STYLE) to cap off our day. Now back to packing... less than 1 week until moving day!

24 hours I would rather forget

I work for a pregnant/new mom store. I rarely see anyone after work because I live in a different town. So after work one day we (my husband and youngest daughter) go to the store to get something to eat and I see a woman who was in my store not to long ago. She was no longer pregnant and I asked her how the baby is. She said, "Not so good, He is at Forest Lawn (The Cemetary)" THAT WILL TEACH ME not to talk to any one out side of the store!

Then today when I got off work a large truck and trailer hit a 10 year old around the corner from my work. All I can remember is his bright yellow shirt hitting the ground and his skater-style shoes not moving and they didn't move.

Can this day go away?

Ok... I've given in!

Now I have a blog! I don't know why, but I am compelled to share my $0.02! I have chosen to use my blog to show the journey along the path of the Proverbs 31 woman. She is who I strive to be.
